Foraging on a thistle sock with the Lesser Goldfinches. I didn’t know they would forage that way until today.

M and F foraging on a thistle sock. Unique because they have been gone all summer with NO interest in the thistle sock. This weekend they began flocking together and signaling each other again.

2 adults with the white crowns, and a juvenile with brown crowns all foraging together.

They have been very vocal and visible this week.

This is the first sighting of a flock of them together this fall for me. We always have them around, but not as a flock. 10 is conservative. They were all over my pine tree!
