Plain community expectations

A short, practical placeholder for privacy, moderation, and community use.

Coos County Birding does not sell member information, give it away, or use it for marketing. Email addresses, real names, and ZIP codes are private account details.

Photo uploads

Photos are welcome when they help document a sighting. Members must own each uploaded photo or have permission to share it here.

Uploaded images are processed for web display. New uploads are resized and compressed, originals are not maintained long-term, and public display images are stripped of EXIF metadata, including GPS metadata.

Photo location display follows the sighting's Place privacy setting. Members choose a photo license when uploading, and the default is All rights reserved.

Members may add an optional Photo on the Web link to a larger or original image hosted elsewhere. Those external links may change or disappear, and the site links to them without embedding or copying the external image.

Members are responsible for keeping their own copies of important records. Site admins may hide or remove spam, abusive, fake, misleading, harmful, or inappropriate content.
